Overview of the B.C. Rockies region

The Rocky Mountains were formed by the pressure of movements of the continental plates and are mostly sedimentary rocks. Many oceanic fossils have been found high in the mountains, as the earth was pushed up and released treasures once buried deep under the seabed. Although these mountains are magestic, my personal opinion is that the Coast and Cascade mountains, with their rugged volcanic rock faces, are more spectacular.
